About Carl: Investor, Educator, and Technology Professional

I’m Carl, an IT professional, investor, blogger, and creator of the Renko Trading Channel on YouTube. Through Lacois.com, I share practical insights on Renko charts, TradingView backtesting, investing, and technology.

Over the years, I’ve learned that the same principles used to build strong technology solutions can also help create better investing and trading decisions. Logic, testing, data, risk awareness, and repeatable processes matter in both worlds.

That approach eventually led me to Renko charts.

Why I Use Renko Charts

Like many traders, I started with traditional candlestick charts. They are useful, but they can also be noisy. Daily headlines, market volatility, and emotional reactions can make it harder to focus on the bigger picture.

Renko charts helped me look at price movement differently. Instead of focusing on every small move, Renko charts filter price action into bricks, which can make trends easier to see.

That simplicity is why I continue to explore Renko trading strategies, trend-following methods, and practical ways to use Renko charts for long-term decision-making.

What You’ll Find on Lacois.com

Lacois.com is where I share my experiments, research, and educational content related to Renko charts, investing, and strategy testing.

I also use tools like TradingView and Google Sheets to test ideas, organize data, and make trading concepts easier to understand.

My Approach

My philosophy is simple: test ideas before trusting them.

  • Follow the data.
  • Test assumptions.
  • Keep strategies understandable.
  • Focus on risk management.
  • Avoid unnecessary complexity.
  • Use evidence instead of emotion.

Whether I’m building software solutions or evaluating a trading strategy, the process is similar. Define the problem, gather data, test ideas, measure results, and improve over time.

The Renko Trading Channel

In addition to this website, I publish educational videos on the Renko Trading Channel.

The channel focuses on Renko chart tutorials, TradingView backtests, strategy experiments, indicators, and practical investing ideas. My goal is to make Renko trading easier to understand without pretending any strategy is perfect.

Meet Bax

If you’ve spent time on Lacois.com or the Renko Trading Channel, you’ve probably seen Bax.

Bax is our Pembroke Welsh Corgi and has been part of our family since 2015. While he doesn’t help with coding, backtesting, or creating YouTube videos, he’s become the unofficial mascot of Lacois.com and the Renko Trading Channel. If you’ve seen my thumbnails, featured images, or educational graphics, you’ve probably seen Bax. He reminds me to keep things simple, stay patient, and enjoy the journey.

You will often see Bax in featured images, thumbnails, and educational graphics throughout the site.

Why I Share This Content

I started creating content because I wanted practical, straightforward explanations for the investing and trading topics I was researching.

Many resources either oversimplify trading concepts or make them feel more complicated than they need to be. My goal is to bridge that gap with content that is practical, experimental, and easy to follow.

Everything I share on Lacois.com is for educational purposes only. Strategies, backtests, calculators, and examples are ideas to study, not financial advice.

Thanks for visiting Lacois.com. I hope the content here helps you become a more confident, data-driven, and disciplined investor.

Happy investing,
Carl
