Invest 10% of your salary, $35k, into a 401(k), and that is $3,500 annually.  That is just $134 per paycheck, assuming you get paid every 2 weeks.  You’ll have over $1 million by the time you are 65, even if the market only makes 5% for you every year.  That is the power of compounding.

Start it while you are young.  It will make you a very happy retiree one day.
