Bitcoin is down more than $1,000 today and just below the $15,000 mark at the moment.
Bitcoin traded lower today after CoinMarketCap removed its prices from the South Korean exchanges, citing that ”Every cryptocurrency is priced at a 30 percent premium in South Korea.“ The removal came without any warning and took the market by surprise.
Bitcoin was also hit by the news that South Korean government was inspecting six local banks that offered the virtual currency accounts to institutions. Last week, South Korea said that it might shut down some of the Bitcoin trading exchanges.
Again, those who had sold the Bitcoin above $19,000 appeared to be the winners for the time being.
